Smart Meter Rolls Out Multi-Cuff Blood Pressure Monitor

The new iBloodPressure Classic multi-cuff monitor was designed for remote patient monitoring and chronic care management.

Smart Meter rolled out a cellular-connected, multi-cuff blood pressure monitor that’s specifically designed for remote patient monitoring (RPM) and chronic care management (CCM).

The new iBloodPressure Classic multi-cuff monitor aims to offer more detailed and accurate understanding of blood pressure over time, addressing the limitations of traditional, single-cuff devices. It has three cuffs of varying sizes to accommodate a broader patient range and reduce the chance of errors caused by ill-fitting cuffs or incorrect positioning.

The monitor is integrated with cellular connectivity so patients can transmit blood pressure data to healthcare providers in real-time. Data is transmitted securely using advanced encryption protocols on a private RPM data network. The device also has a one-button interface to ease the process of patients taking their readings.

It offers reporting and trends as well for valuable insights into blood pressure patterns.

“Accurate transmission of a patient’s blood pressure is crucial for healthcare providers to track trends and make care plan adjustments when needed,” said Smart Meter CEO Casey Pittock. “We listened carefully to our customers who serve tens of thousands of providers to develop this new version of our iBloodPressure Classic monitor that is now compatible with three different cuff sizes. These new cuff sizes will not only help a broader range of patients but also help improve the accuracy of those readings.”

Earlier this year, Smart Meter introduced a new version of iGlucose, its cellular-connected glucose meter. The company also said it plans to further enhance its product lineup and expand RPM and CCM offerings.
